A Calmer Video Editor

Edit, Review and Guide modes replace the row of equal-weight buttons at the top of the editor — Review is where you draw and check masks, with a Not reviewed banner over the picture that says why, Watch from start to play the take through, and Mark as reviewed in the Masks panel next to the masks it covers; Guide opens the step maker on the step nearest the playhead, with the step count on the tab; a pill beside Export reads Reviewed or Needs review

Nine panels instead of fourteen — Look, Device, Camera, Pointer, Text, Audio, Notes, Assist and Masks, with related settings as tabs inside: Camera holds Zooms, Director and B-roll, Text holds Captions and Keys, Audio holds Sound and Music. Silence, filler and idle suggestions moved to Assist. Select a clip and its card leads Look, Device and Pointer with its range, its speed, delete, and Merge when several clips are selected

A timeline that shows only what's there — a lane appears once it has something on it, and the Keys, Text, Mask, Music and B-roll pills under the tracks open whatever fills that lane. In Review the Masks lane stays visible even when it's empty; clicks show as dots on the ruler; the recorded sound's waveform has its own row; the scissors button holds Split here and trimming to the playhead

Drag the seam between the picture and the timeline to give either one more room; double-click the seam to reset it

A toolbar on the picture — the export shape is one click away, Aim / Preview appears while a camera move is selected, and the note tools sit over the picture while Notes is open

Faster zoom editing — a 3 of 5 pager steps between camera moves, and 1.25×, 1.5×, 2× and 3× chips set a move's zoom in one tap

A new look — rounded glass panels, pill and circle controls and capsule-shaped tracks in both the dark and light themes. Snapshots live under one History button (Save snapshot, or pick an earlier one), and the shortcut strip under the picture is gone — shortcuts are listed under ?

A two-column export sheet — length, frame, rate, estimated size and review state on the left; shape, resolution, frame rate and quality on the right, with an estimated file size on every quality tier. Set the destination with Choose where the file goes… before exporting, or choose when you press Export; saved presets sit in one Preset menu in the header

Clip speed from 0.25× to 24× — type a Custom speed in the clip's card or set one from its right-click menu, or pick the new 16× and 24× presets for a timelapse. The preview plays fast clips at up to 16× and the exported file uses the exact speed you set; changing a clip's speed still asks you to review the take again, and the studio chat now uses the number you ask for instead of rounding to the nearest preset

Use your own image as the background — under Image in the Look panel, Use my own picks a PNG, JPEG or WebP and Replace swaps it, for the whole take or one clip. The image is saved inside the .1showcase project file so the take opens the same on another machine, and choosing it asks you to review the take again because it appears in every exported frame

Apply a mockup film to one clip — set Apply to on the Device panel to that clip and a film from Mockup films becomes its own scene and background, playing from the clip's first frame while the rest of the take keeps its look. None — screen only removes the mockup from that clip; Use a still pose for this clip keeps the device and drops the film's motion

Notes show in full while you edit a paused frame — arrows and text no longer appear half-faded or half-drawn while you place them

Placing a note takes fewer steps — playback pauses when you start placing one, the tool switches back to Select afterwards, and the text box grows as you type

The hints in the Notes panel match the tool — click and type for text, click to place a counter, or draw and release for everything else

The top bar shows the film's length first, followed by the recording's frame size
