SHIPPED · v1.11.0

Character Design, a native 2D puppet editor, and portable character packs

New

  • A workspace for Character Design. Start with a concept image, review and lock the character's canonical references, then build turnaround, expression, mouth, eye and pose sheets and alternate appearances. The workspace keeps the character bible, style, delivery status and hardware details beside the artwork.

  • Approve character image batches before they run. Edit or drop a proposed job, approve up to three candidates per item, and select the result to keep. Pinned references accompany generation; completed batches get a separate consistency review. Asset provenance, rights decisions and licence text travel with the character.

  • Portable character packs and agent access. Export and import .charpack files, fork a character while keeping its pinned identity, and restore named checkpoints. Read-only character MCP tools let permitted agents inspect registered characters for reuse; access to future projects is an explicit grant option.

  • The first native 2D puppet editor. Open the rig editor from a character's Puppet tab, import named PNG layers, and author warp and pivot deformers, parameter keyforms, layer order, blend modes and clipping masks. Preview with live sliders, mouse-follow and optional microphone amplitude lip-sync; edits support undo, redo and saved version checkpoints.

  • Pose a concept image directly. Start a puppet from the character's concept, drag in Pose mode to turn and tilt its head and body, or use Deform to edit lattice handles. Split face parts with marked eye and mouth regions to add blinks and talking shapes. Older concept puppets offer an undoable rebuild with the new head and body deformers.

  • Checked puppet and transparent video exports. Export a portable HTML puppet or runtime JSON after rig validation and keyform reload checks. With local FFmpeg, record the puppet as a transparent WebM. Native rigs and puppet files are included in character packs. This is the initial rig editor; PSD and Inochi2D import/export remain pending.

Improved

  • See which agents can access this project. The stage and Artifacts handoff panels show agents with a live MCP grant for the current project and link directly to MCP settings.

Fixed

  • New designs use the actual Documents folder. The default projects location follows the OS Documents path, including redirected Windows and OneDrive folders. Folder errors show the affected path and how to change it in Settings; long messages remain readable.

  • Character concepts stay visible while sheets are pending. A character with only a generated reference opens on a large Concept view, with a clear action to review and lock the face. Arbitrary reference filenames load and images refresh after preview changes.

  • SVG illustrations load from custom media folders. Character references and other SVG artwork under folders such as art/ now render in the preview.

  • Puppet canvas controls work at every zoom. Handles keep their screen size, dragging stops clip playback, and clicking the artwork selects its deformer. Pose mode previews motion without adding edits to document history.
