Changelog

Shipped, fixed, and improved

Every 1MachineTool release, straight from the release notes that ship with the product.

    • New

      • The built-in Remote Desktop viewer on Intel Macs, Windows and Linux. The 1machine-rdp host now ships with every download, not only the Apple silicon one, so Pro opens a PC's screen inside 1MachineTool there too.

      • Devices. Your machines running 1MachineTool on the same Wi-Fi or Tailscale network, as a map and a list with their health. Drag one onto another to link them: 1MachineTool sets up SSH for you, keys and all, after the other machine's owner allows it, and ssh <name> works in any terminal from then on, in both directions. Each link opens a terminal, runs a command, sends files or wakes the machine. Unlink removes exactly what was added. 1machine devices serve lets a headless machine take part. Free links 2 machines; Pro has no limit and runs commands and sends files.
      • 1MachineTool on Linux. A .deb and an AppImage for 64-bit PCs, built and tested on Ubuntu with GNOME. Both update themselves the same way the Mac and Windows apps do, and the 1machine CLI comes with them. A Pro key works on Linux too, one slot per computer.
      • Every module, the Linux way. Battery health and the firmware's charge limit, keep awake that GNOME respects, temperatures and drive health without a driver, a cleaner with a Linux allow-list (caches, thumbnails, the Trash, old installers) and the same 30-day quarantine, apps and recent files in the launcher, clipboard history on X11 and on GNOME's Wayland session, What changed? from apt, dpkg and snap, 13 security checks, Wi-Fi details from NetworkManager, sound through PipeWire, brightness and Night Light, 32 GNOME tweaks, Ubuntu Dock presets and Do Not Disturb for scenes.
    • Improved

      • A fuller menu bar panel. Its readings sit in a three-by-two grid, each with the last hour as a strip underneath, and its clipboard rows copy or paste back in place.

Intel Macs and Windows on ARM

    • New

      • Intel Macs. A separate download for Macs with an Intel processor, signed and notarized like the Apple silicon version. Every module works except VMs, which need Apple silicon; the VMs page says so, and on an Apple silicon Mac it says to get the Apple silicon version instead.

    • Fixed

      • The update progress bar keeps up with the download. It used to trail far behind the "MB of MB" label while an update downloaded.

    • New

      • 1MachineTool Pro. Buy it once from Settings › License: $29 for one computer, $59 for three or $89 for five, in any mix of Macs and PCs. It includes a year of updates, and the version you have keeps working after that. Paste your license key to activate; Deactivate frees the computer for another one.
      • Every module on Free, within daily limits. 100 clipboard items, 3 fixes, 1 cleanup and 2 scene runs a day, plus 1 saved window layout and 1 VM with 1 snapshot. The daily limits start again at midnight. Settings › License shows today's meters, and the sidebar shows how many fixes are left.
    • Improved

      • Menu bar tidying, scenes and Optimize now work on Free. Optimize now counts as the day's cleanup. Moving menu bar icons for you, the charge limit, lid-closed mode, custom DNS, window dimming, sync and the Monday email stay part of Pro.
      • Free clipboard history keeps what you set. The 7-day limit is gone; the daily item limit replaces it. Once today's items are used, copy and paste still work, and the Clipboard page says new copies are kept again tomorrow.
      • Fixes and cleanups on Free reset every day. They were a one-time allowance of 10 fixes and 3 cleanups. Undo and restoring from quarantine are never counted.

    The first Windows build

    • New

      • One app, one hotkey. A launcher for apps, recent files, commands with typed arguments, a calculator, unit conversion, snippets and your own commands, plus the MCP commands of the other StoicSoft apps you use.
      • Clipboard history for text, rich text, images, files, links and colours, encrypted at rest. Secure fields and ignored apps are never recorded.
      • Windows: snap to every target, move to the next display, saved layouts per display setup, and dim background windows.
