The Shot Editor, Refinished

The studio's look on the shot editor — glass panels, pill and circle controls, and a layout where nothing scrolls at a normal window size

Tools float over the picture — one pill holds Select, Crop, Add image, the shapes, Arrow, Text, Counter, Pencil, Highlighter, Spotlight and Secure pixelate, plus colour and stroke

A tool's own options — crop shape, arrow head, text size — appear as a second pill only while that tool is active

A rail of inspector panels — Background, Device, Scene, Text, Pet and Motion, with Redact at the foot showing the mask count. Redact gathers the mask list, Clear all and the two covering tools in one place

A top bar that acts on the output — back, title and image size with a live Saved / Saving… indicator, Undo and Redo, Copy, Pin, secure share link, and Done

A smarter Save button — the split button names what it will write and roughly how big ("Saves PNG · about 2.4 MB"), and its menu holds the format choices and Share or export

Stills can save as WebP — a screenshot with no motion now writes PNG or WebP; picking an animated format turns Motion on for you

Copy, paste and duplicate on every lane — ⌘C / ⌘V works on a note, mask, music piece, voice-over, keystroke, camera marker, zoom move or clip, and lands the copy at the playhead; ⌥⌘V pastes where the pointer is. ⌘D duplicates — it used to be notes only

Drag any bar to move it — notes, masks, music, voice-overs, keystrokes, markers and zooms slide along their lane and snap to clip seams, markers and other bars' edges. ⌥-drag drags a copy instead; Escape cancels the gesture

Duplicate a clip to repeat the footage — ⌘D on a clip inserts a copy of that footage right after it, so a moment can play twice

Numbered counters renumber themselves — duplicating step "3" gives the next free number instead of a second "3"

Voice-overs are full citizens — select, drag, delete and rename a piece on its lane; the Sound panel shows a name field for the selected one

A pasted mask is a real mask — a copied mask covers solidly like the original, never a softer effect

Drops onto cut footage are refused — a note or mask can't be dropped where it would be entirely cut away; it snaps back instead of vanishing from the lane

Pause and Continue on the export sheet — a running export parks at a frame boundary and resumes where it left off; the frames already rendered are kept, and Cancel still answers while paused

Overlapping notes and masks stack on their own sub-rows — two marks that collide on the lane now each get a row instead of one hiding the other, and both stay clickable
