A Countdown You Can Walk Through

A countdown you can walk to your window through — press Start on a screen recording and the app hides while a click-through 3-2-1 appears on every display, restating exactly what you're about to record; get to the window you picked while it counts down, or press Cancel/Esc to bail

The floating recording bar shows what's live — while recording, the HUD now carries a live camera thumbnail alongside on/off pips for the microphone and system audio, so you can tell at a glance that what you thought was being recorded actually is

Follow the pointer while zoomed — a new toggle in the Camera panel of the screen-recording editor: while zoomed in, the crop tracks the cursor through a dead-zone of the visible zoom, and stays put on the way back out — so a control the camera just pushed in on doesn't drift off screen the moment you reach for the next one

Smarter automatic camera — the auto-zoom now also uses cursor dwells (a pause without a click), holds a little longer over a dropdown menu so the menu is on screen while the camera is in, and drops text-selection drags so highlighting a paragraph doesn't drag the crop across the page

Talking head shrinks with zoom — a new Shrink with zoom toggle in the Camera panel; the talking-head bubble yields to the control the camera just pushed in on, keeping its anchor corner or edge in place

Redesigned recording tiles — quiet facts (steps · when · from where) sit in one line and coloured chips are kept for what's only true of some recordings, so the picture above them stays the loudest thing on the tile; a wider column also buys the poster room to tell five takes all called "Entire screen" apart

Reveal and delete on the tile — hover any recording and the project-file and delete buttons appear on the tile itself, matching what the row view already offered

A countdown on your raw footage — a screen recording's tile now says how many days are left before its raw footage is swept off disk (raw footage is unredacted as recorded, so it isn't kept indefinitely); the chip turns amber close to the deadline, so you know to export or ignore it in time

A proper macOS template icon — the menu-bar (tray) icon is now an alpha-only template so macOS can tint it for a light or dark bar, drawn at the bar's native size rather than as a resize of a bigger picture

A warning when macOS hides it — if the menu bar is full and macOS accepts the icon but tucks it behind the notch, the Shortcuts settings panel now says so, instead of leaving a tick box that appears to do nothing

The whole app goes cinema-black — the ground moves from a tinted navy to pure black across every screen, the browser extension popup, the follower overlay and PPTX exports; elevation is a hairline and a shadow, never a hue

No more keychain password prompts on every launch — on macOS the license background refresh used to rewrite the same entitlement to the keychain every boot, and macOS asks for the login password to modify a stored item; it now only writes when the grant actually changed or the cached blob is due for renewal, so once you've allowed it there's no reason for it to ask again

Navigating away cancels a pending countdown — leaving the Record screen while the pre-record countdown is running now stops it cleanly, so a recording never starts on a screen you've already left
