SHIPPED · v0.13.2
Direct a performance shot by shot, and sound chosen for the look
New
Direct a character's performance. The Action editor brings shot staging, character blocking, actions, expressions, dialogue, camera and lighting controls into one timeline. Review proposed edits, compare takes and choose the performance used in the cut.
Create reusable 2D characters. Make a character preview, review its appearance and save it in Assets. Unfinished previews remain available after reopening the app, and palette variants are saved explicitly.
Bring designs into a production. Import supported design bundles, inspect their available 2D or 3D representations and choose how to use them in a film. Productions keep their own pinned asset revisions.
Mention assets in your brief. Use @ mentions to choose library assets while writing. Referenced media travels with the production so the director can use the design you selected.
Sound palettes for your look. Productions now choose effects from 30 look-specific palettes, with sound direction carried from the brief into the mix. Scene settings guide ambience, and mood guides music.
Audition, swap and lock sounds. Sound Studio shows each palette role with four audition variants and ranked alternatives. Lock a choice to keep it through repairs and reopening the production.
Improved
Choose Full, Quick or Draft. Composition runs now separate a full review, a shorter final-quality pass and a first-look preview, with the chosen policy saved for the run.
Follow work as it happens. Live agent drafts and render progress make ongoing work visible. Independent local checks and rendering can share available workers, and reusable intermediates avoid repeated work.
More deliberate sound direction. Full composition authoring asks for a sound design, checks palette fit and reports world coverage. Cue sheets show sound roles and the design behind them.
Footage and 3D use the sound palette. Footage effects retain their measured timing and levels; 3D shot cues use sound intent and scene settings, including surfaces for footstep accents.
Recorded footage has a clearer home. The footage workspace is now named Video Editor across the app.
Fixed
Fixed dense Sound Studio swaps collapsing cues to four repeated variants, and lock toggles changing the current sound.
Fixed Sound Studio waiting indefinitely for a worker that fails to start; the engine can fall back to running in the page.
Fixed palette responses arriving after a production switch affecting the new production, and clean Studio sessions retaining old repaired cues.
Fixed 3D assembly overlooking the active author's sound cues, design and silent beats, and footsteps using the default surface.
Fixed cancelled local work publishing late results and a native run handoff overflowing its thread stack.
